Service Policies

Pets are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances....

  • The pet is fit and healthy. Grooming which takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner's risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health and skin conditions for which Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC cannot be held liable.

  • The pet's rabies vaccine is up to date (as required by AZ law) unless otherwise discussed.

  • In the event of an emergency and in your absence, you authorize Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.

  • Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, check or credit card. Returned checks will incur a $35 charge. Our rates are based on the size/breed of the pet and duration of the groom. Nail cutting and ear cleaning are included in the service unless the process is too stressful for the pet or is too dangerous for the groomer.

  • We do not express anal glands unless specifically asked, as it is an add-on service for an additional price.

  • “De-matting" or complete coat removal will dramatically alter your pet's appearance. This procedure may expose pre-existing health\skin problems for which Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC cannot be held liable. There can and will be fees applied at the discretion of the groomer if de-matting can be done HUMANELY. (see #3)

  1. Cancellations/Reschedules

  • Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment, by the client, requires at least a 48 hour notice.

  • All clients are required to keep an active credit/debit card on file and may be charged a non-refundable holding fee of up to $50 to reserve their appointment time. The holding fee will then be applied towards the total grooming bill.

  • In the event of inclimate weather, a family emergency, or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive any holding fee within the 48 hour period.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a groom due to extreme weather, van maintenance, equipment failure, road hazzards, etc. Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer.

2. No-Shows

It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time-frame and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule.

  • We reserve the right to charge the FULL grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show". Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to any pet or client for any reason.

3. Matted Dogs

  • Risks involved in de-matting (shaving down) a matted pet may include, but are not limited to: red and itchy skin, abrasions, self inflicted irritations, hematomas, failure of hair regrowth, knicks, burns, bruises, etc.

  • As a pet owner, you are responsible for the condition of your pet’s coat and may not hold Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal.

4. Safety

  • Owners are resposible in comunicating the behavior and health of their pet. The lack of proper communication can lead to injury for either the pet or the groomer. The owner will be held liable for any injury to the pet, groomer or any property damage caused by their pets. We can and will discontinue any grooming process if we feel your pet’s behavior is compromising their own safety or ours. We will charge for the amount of the groom that has been accomplished or $50, whichever is greater.

  • We require that all pets are current on their rabies if eligible and/or for all puppies to have started their vaccination rounds. This is required for the safety of both the pets and the groomer. All Veterinary records of such shall be submitted prior to appointment date or your appointment may be subject to cancellation and charged any holding fees.

5. Pictures

  • I hereby grant Modern Mobile Pet Spa LLC the right and permission to use, reproduce, distribute, and/or publish any photographs, audio, and video recordings of my dog(s) at any time before, during and after the grooming process. I hereby release Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC from any and all liability resulting from such use. I also waive any right to any compensation for the use of all said materials.

De-Matting

"Matting" of a dog's coat refers to the dense tangles of fur that form when loose and live hair become embedded in large masses due to insufficient brushing. While mats can sometimes be combed out, if left untreated for too long, they can harm the animal and become impossible to remove without causing serious damage to the skin and coat.

There are several risks involved during the "de-matting" process, however, every effort will be made to protect the integrity of your pet's skin/coat. This process typically involves a short, full shave-down at a short enough length to get under the entire mat. Mats that are tightly against the skin can block blood flow and when removed during grooming, can cause bruising. Mats close to the skin can also hide moles, warts, scabs, skin folds, etc, and can result in nicks, cuts and/or abrasions. Heavy matting of a pet's coat can trap moisture near the skin, fostering the growth of mold, fungus, or bacteria which can reveal existing skin irritations after removal.

Post-mat removal, pets may experience behavioral changes, redness, itchiness, hematomas, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions due to scratching, and sometimes, the failure of hair to regrow. In cases of hematomas, (localized swelling,  usually of the ears, which fills with blood) pets may shake their heads aggressively causing the hematomas to burst open.

As a pet owner, you are responsible for the overall maintenance and well-being of your pet's coat. You will be asked to sign a release form if your dog has any signs of severe matting. By signing our forms, you agree to and understand the de-matting process and its fees and will not hold Modern Mobile Dog Spa LLC liable for any possible adverse effects during this service.
